From a suburban life in the USA to a life in the village in rural Kenya; in 2018 my life changed in so many dramatic ways. This is the story of how I became The Feral Housewife.

In 2017, I was working as a property manager in NC, USA. The company was a wonderful one and the work environment was wonderful. There were many things I loved about my job, but day in and day out I could not stop feeling the very strong urge to move to the rural areas of Kenya for missions work.
Since I was eight years old, maybe longer, I have felt God’s call to missions on my life, but much of my life was spent studying and preparing myself while I waited for God to tell me it was tiem to go.
By 2017 I received several dreams and visions leading me to go out and use what I had been learning. God led me to sell most of my possessions. Put in notice at work, turn my volunteer work over to others, and move here to Kenya.
I had for two years prior been working remotely in ministry work in Kenya, Uganda, and Pakistan. I had many contacts, but God led me to begin my mission journey where I currently am, in Bungoma Kenya in a rural village named Nyangali.
Since moving out, I have seen the fulfillment of many of the visions I had seen prior to coming. I have also been surprised to see the fulfillment of many things I desired in life but never considered being able to receive once I began my missions livelihood.
In June 2018 I arrived in Kenya. Three days later, I met my husband. The first tiem I heard him speak, at a prayer meeting and welcome gathering, God spoke to my heart and told me he would be my husband. Three months later we were married.
Since then, we have had two children and I have learned the rural way of life :cleaning clothes in basins, cooking on a fire, charcoal, and a gas stove (I want to build a clay oven too!), washing dishes and putting them on a, drying rack outside, collecting rain water, farming, and raising animals of all kinds. I have desired this since I was a young child, and I have all of it now.
God knows the God really does know everything within us as he is the one that created us. When we fulfill our God given purpose, he aligns us with himself and gives us the desires of our hearts as well becasue it is he himself who has put those desires there.
