“Hebrews 11:1 NKJV
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
The things which we see here in the world with our physical eyes are temporary. One day they will all pass from existence and the only things left will be those things which are eternal.
Paul says, in 1 Corinthians 13:12 ” for now we see through a glass darkly, but then we shall see face to face.”
There are things we cannot perceive with our physical human senses: things that are happening in the spiritual realm all around us: battles, temptations, gifts, and encouragements. Things that we are not aware of unless our spiritual eyes are open and we are able to see with eyes of faith and discernment.
These things influence our lives and we must use faith and discernment to access our promises that God has given to us.
For instance, when we pray and claim scripture, or when we are claiming our healing, promised by God through Christ’s victory on the cross, we cannot access these things but by FAITH.
As Hebrews 11:1 stated, faith is the SUBSTANCE of what we hope for.
What is substance?
Substance is quite literally, the real, physical matter by which something exists or takes form.
For example, the SUBSTANCE that makes our motorbikes are rubber and the metal and electrical components. If you were to not have any metal, or electrical components, or rubber, that bike would NOT exist in front of you!
The SUBSTANCE that makes up our houses is either dirt, bricks, wood, iron sheets, cement, stone, and glass. If you had none of these components you COULD NOT have that house! It would not exist!
In the same way, of we lack FAITH, there is nothing of which our healing can be built by. We must have faith and claim our promises in Christ, just as the women who had the issue of blood for twelve years thought “if I can just TOUCH the hem of his garment!” We must have Jesus and we must have Faith.
Your faith is like a phone charger. You have to have a charging cable in order to charge your phone.
You also have to have a source of power (in this case Jesus) to plug your charging cable in to.
It you do not have the charging cable (faith) you cannot charge your phone.
If you are not plugged in to the SOURCE of power (JESUS). You cannot charge your phone!
You must have both faith and be plugged in to Jesus, our source. He has given authority to the church. We must use it.
He has given the word of God to us. We must know it and utilize it.
Matthew 28:18-20 NIV
[18] Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. [19] Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Luke 10:19- 20 NKJV
Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
We rejoice because our hope is in heaven. We rejoice because of our place in CHRIST!
Our focus should never be on the demonic but on the author of our salvation. He is the one who has put the kingdom of darkness under our feet. He is the one who deserves all of the glory. It is not about the power or position we have but the victory Jesus won! All glory, all honor goes to Jesus.
